In this psychological suspense drama, Ellen has been subconsciously held down by a quiet control to distance herself from the pain, guilt and inadequacy she feels as a woman–a result of not being able to carry a child full term. This struggle manifests as both an external and internal pressure. The trauma of her inexplicable infertility has held her back from an open connection to her adopted daughter, Lilly. Even though she really wants to be close to her, Ellen finds herself constantly putting up walls ... She’s a fine mother, but … The day Lilly gets her first period a jealousy grows inside of Ellen that drives everyone to their limit.
